Guide
How merging works
Each PDF is opened in memory by pdf-lib, all of its pages are copied in the order you set, and a new PDF is written and offered as a download. Text stays selectable and pages keep their original size and quality, because nothing is re-rendered. Bookmarks and form fields from the original files may not be carried over.
Password-protected PDFs
Encrypted PDFs, such as many e-statements from banks, cannot be merged until the password is removed. Open the file in your bank’s app or a PDF reader, enter the password and use ‘print to PDF’ to save an unlocked copy, then merge that copy. We never ask for, or see, your passwords.
Keeping the file small
The merged file is roughly the sum of the inputs. If a portal limits uploads to 1–2 MB, first compress scanned images with the Photo Compressor and rebuild them with JPG to PDF before merging. Merging very large files (hundreds of MB) can be slow or fail on phones with little memory; use a computer for those.
Common uses
Join an application form with its supporting documents before uploading; combine monthly bank statements into one file for a loan application; put a resume and certificates together for a job portal that accepts a single upload; or merge invoices for an expense claim. Name the merged file clearly – for example ‘Name_Documents_2026.pdf’ – and open it once to check every page is present and in the right order before you submit.
