The US and the UK change their clocks on different weekends. In spring 2027 New York moves on 14 March and London on 28 March, so for two weeks the gap is 4 hours instead of the usual 5. A weekly call booked at 3:00 PM London time falls at 11:00 AM in New York during that window, not 10:00 AM.

London sits between the Americas and Asia, which is why it is used as the base time for so many global meetings. A late-morning London slot reaches the US East Coast before its working day gets busy and still catches India in the afternoon. Australia is the hard one: Sydney is 11 hours ahead of London in the northern winter and 9 hours ahead in the northern summer, so most London to Sydney calls happen early morning in London or late evening.

Europe and London change their clocks on the same weekends, so Paris and Berlin stay one hour ahead all year. Ireland and Portugal share London's clock.

Mumbai is 5 hours 30 minutes ahead of London in winter and 4 hours 30 minutes ahead in summer. If you publish meeting times for a mixed team, add the UTC time too: it removes any doubt about whether GMT or BST applies.
